A New Incremental
28th Oct, 23
Welcome to the first issue of Gnorp News. It will be a weekly newsletter leading up to the release of (the) Gnorp Apologue. The game will be released on desktop, and will cost 6.99$ with no microtransactions.

In today’s issue I am going to touch on the very basics of the game, and on the first three gnorps you can unlock.

It all starts with the rock. It sits there, menacingly, and, for some mysterious reason it outputs shards when struck. The gnorps have found use for these shards, and they want to have them all.

The shards must be collected, and this is where the runners come in. Runners are the first unlocked units responsible for collecting shards. Shards are used to upgrade your gnorps, and build new structures. In the case of runners, they are built from the Express, and that is also where you will upgrade them. You might upgrade runners with:
— Additional movement speed
— The ability to teleport forward in time

Slammers are the first damaging unit you unlock. They are relatively basic, and generate shards by slamming their heads against the rock. Some of their many upgrades include:
— The ability to combo, resulting in more slams
— The ability to breathe fire, burning and damaging the rock

Having runners to collect your shards is great, but their little feet can’t bring them that far that fast. They have to spend a lot of time walking back and forth from the rock to the stash, and this significantly reduces our shard income. No shards, no upgrades, no gnorps, no glory.

Mountaineers to the rescue!
They make the runner’s job easier by climbing the pile and throwing shards down. They’re great, but they can be even greater. Some ways you can improve the mountaineers include:
— More shards are thrown if the pile is bigger
— A hiking buddy accompanies the mountaineer

(the) Gnorp Apologue is the interplay of these and many more units, and the pile of shards. It is intended to be diffcult, but not overly punishing. Use your collected shards to upgrade your gnorps, apply talents that modify their behaviour, and maximise their efficiency. All for the single purpose of accumulating those juicy shards.

Thank you for reading the first installation of Gnorp News. I hope to get you all gnorpin as soon as possible.
